What is the difference between kiln dried and seasoned logs?
The key difference between Kiln Dried Logs and Seasoned logs is the moisture level.
Seasoned logs will be approx 20% moisture as they have been barn stored whilst Kiln Dried logs have been put in a heated Kiln which has removed more moisture, so you should have an approx moisture reading of 15%.
Another difference is that Kiln Dried logs burn hotter than seasoned logs due to the reduced moisture.
